PARIS (Reuters) - France is ready to veto any British request for a Brexit delay that either kicks the can down the road without offering a way out of its deadlock or imperils European Union institutions, an official in President Emmanuel Macron’s office said on Tuesday.

Vive La France! I want to see finally a proper GBP drowning. We need to remind the Brit-ISH that bad political behavior has serious consequences!

  2. If UK crashes out of EU without a deal, and standard WTO Rules, with the economic data and all the countries already in a recession across the world, it will be CHRISTMAS for the bears... Like Julie says in this clip, 1929 but it'll get worst now!

In history France have never been "friends" with the UK.
The British were always a pain in the *** in any discussion in the EU (and elsewhere). They always want special treatments and better conditions then the rest. The don't know the word "solidarity", but "egoism" they know very well.

The US already told the British that in negociations for trade agreements the UK should open their market completely for the US agricultural sector. Included chlorinated chickens. So just replace the EU agreements with new agreements is not as simpe as it looks and might end with unfavorable agreements.

"A potential US-UK trade agreement is back in the spotlight as US President Donald Trump tweeted on Thursday that “the potential is unlimited” for a large-scale deal between the two sides.
The US must “learn to abide by British law and British standards, or kiss goodbye to any trade deal and join the back of the queue,” Eustice said in an opinion article in the Guardian. “A modern trade deal is not simply about commerce, it is also about values.”

Unfortunately for the UK, the Americans are in a much stronger position. The UK government has promised its citizens that it will work to strike free trade deals with countries around the world after Britain leaves the European Union. The US — which is Britain’s largest trading partner after the EU — is under less pressure to follow through.

But the UK won’t want to allow the US to extract too many concessions. The British government will want to protect its food standards and guard its industries from unfair competition, as well as ensure fair government procurement standards and dispute resolution policies.

The US is known to move faster than other developed nations in striking trade deals. However, it could easily take two to four years to get this deal done, if it’s done at all, Henig told Yahoo Finance UK.

“It’s already in trouble,” according to David Henig, a former trade negotiator who is now director of the UK Trade Policy Project at the European Centre for International Political Economy. “Right now, the way it looks, it’s not happening anytime soon.”

Looks more like war then negociations. The British will still continue to dream how good life will be after Brexit.

Careful what you wish for - the law of unintended consequences is in play here for the EU as well as Great Britain.

Financial 2008 crisis all over again. People were warning of a major economic slowdown. I guess this might precipitate it. Well, as long as we are prepared for it and brace ourselves. Volatility = profits.

I certainly hope they will veto.

Sadly the reality is they will grant an extension.

Our moron's have wanted no deal all along, only preparation that's been made is for no deal with a huge car park secretly built for lorries near the tunnel.

UK doesn't want extension, March 30th EU passes very strong anti tax evasion laws, UK will lose it's Tax haven status and that's about we've got going for us.

Are you sure? Did Macron tell it to you? Your statement confirms that you are blinded by being British and you lost all contact with reality. And reality is that nobody knows what the decision is till the decision is made.
You probably already know stockprices and currency quotes from tomorrow too. LOL.

I don't want any trade deal with the US. However:

Donald Trump’s national security adviser, John Bolton, said America is “ready to go” with a US-UK trade deal.

Mr Bolton told Sky News: “We can do these deals quickly. We want to partner with a newly independent Britain.”

The UK economy just reported both record low unemployment and highest number of people in employment. Business is humming along nicely.

The reality is that the only crisis is in politics. Outside the Brussels and Westminster bubbles, Brits are doing great. Unfortunately, the Eurozone people are doing very badly, but they have to leave the eurozone if they want to recover. I hope they have the courage to do this.

Anyway, I hope that they never resolve this Brexit thing so they don't have any time to meddle in our lives ever again!
