Sorry to be asking all the questions, but I am having a hard time seeing the building block tapes when I look at 6-3 traverse.

You've bitten off quite a mouthful. I sloppily answered most of your questions given the space provided, but some of these instances you're noticing require precise conditions to be met in order to bring them to completion.

Dominant tapes are more frequently VE'd and accelerations in volume pace compress the amount of time needed to bring sequences to completion, so we might have a L2 thickness fractal Non-Dom Gaussian which is normally represented by an entire BBT complete within two bars. There's a method to the madness but it takes a lot of study to begin to see it. I think pace considerations are one of the areas which has brought everyone the most difficulty with understanding and applying this paradigm in a consistent fashion over the years.

It might be best to focus on one area that's somewhat fuzzy for you, try to find multiple instances of that behavior in the market, and start experimenting in order to find a consistent annotation procedure that works on all of them.

    Hope that helps some.

    I will not sit quietly:

    @Hero...
You are not "teaching" JH/Spyder methods. Others reading this thread need to know this.
Teach the Hero Theory. Give credit to JH/Spyder where appropriate.

I was called rogue and considered a nuisance (but not a detractor) by several disciplined JH "teachers" when I would not/will not de-gap bar-to-bar and on fast time frames I use a requirement of 4 bars for lateral. ha!! That's nothing!

You my friend have changed the foundational basis by creating/inventing your own rules of channel construction. It is the Hero Theory, not the JH/Spyder program. End of Story.

This will be my last post in the YOUR thread. I have no interest in the Hero Theory.

Thanks, tiddlywinks for your comments, for the taping pdf and for Tikkitrader's Channel Construction. I was hoping to profit additionally from your experience and expertise with the JH method. I studied and stumbled through all of Spydertrader's threads so I am most familiar with his concepts and with that approach. But as someone who is not yet profitable, I gratefully accept whatever help I can get and hope that a piece here and a piece there will fill the gaps in my understanding.

    tiddlywinks,

Thank you for your input. I've discussed these methods with several people who studied Spydertrader's threads extensively, and they have come to the same conclusions I have. I can understand your disagreement, but in my opinion it is borne out of an incomplete understanding.

It is similar to individuals who think Jack and Spyder had diverging methods, when I believe the reality is that they understood the same exact paradigm, but just explained it and presented it in substantially different manner. Spyder himself said in his last year of posting and presentations that nothing had changed since Jack's USENET postings in 1999.

You can point out any portion of what I've presented in this thread and I could link you to a place where it has been discussed previously by Jack and/or Spyder if I was inclined to. Best of luck.

  6. Whatever happened to Spydertrader? That dude was "on-fire" as a Hershey evangelist.

Is JH still preaching, have not seen him around lately.

  7. Yeah, looks like his last post was in Sept 2014. Hope he's OK.

A light went on with your comments regarding implied iv. A frequent source of error comes as I patiently wait for the trough of a new sequence, enter on the crest and discover the trend is now over. In the example you noted the bar closing outside an opposite FC to imply iv. In the case of B2B of a BBT what visible conditions might imply iv in the absence of visible ibv?

That's a great question to ask. You've stumbled upon an area for study; what gives BBT's sufficiency for completion. FC BO is something that gives implied IV to complete a sequence in certain cases. Try to collect images of BBTs that seem to complete before you think they should and see if they have anything in common. Feel free to post some annotations of points where you're confused and I will try to offer some comments.
