Fox News War on Journalism

  1. Im not sure what you mean by naive, Mav.

I think FOX has a business model that is essentially trend following. They found a way to tap into a segment of the population, they know it's political leanings, and the entertainment is distinctly blue color, the bluest of blue. They know this segment tends to not be the sharpest knives in the drawer as well.

So I believe that FOX feeds this working class segment what they want to hear, and then entertains them by making parodies about their lives. Family Guy, Simpsons, American Dad......they even tho some song and dance in there with Idol. FOX also owns much of talk radio. They know what they are doing, and they do it well.

And MSNBC does not? Huh? Come on RCG. Here in Chicago they televise almost all the Cubs games. Why? Because it's Chicago! Sure, FOX cable targets a right wing pro-business audience. And MSNBC targets tofu eating, volvo driving, NYT reading, pro labor, code pink, and other assorted nut jobs. I really don't understand your point.

Are you saying Chicago should televise Milwaukee Brewers games?

  3. Like Pavlov's mutt, ring the bell on Fox News, get a strawman from Mav in defense.

    Slobbery...

Why not try this mav, only post on things for which the similar behavior is never found in the opposing party...

That will reduce you to posting nothing at all...

  8. Why is it that you think an attack on the messenger is of any logical value?

Really, try to make an argument for attacking the messenger...

  9. We were talking about FOX, not MSNBC. The point was that people should not complain about fox news. It is a business model, that is why I plus oned that post. Fox does a better job at tending it's sheep than msnbc. So much so that "the Ram" did not know Rupert Murdock was jewish.:D

As long we don't get fooled into thinking that Fox is anything more than a propaganda machine, it makes for good ol right wing fun!

And just to be "fair and balanced" the same can be said of MSNBC. :)

RCG, neither FOX nor MSNBC is a propaganda machine. They both express different points of view targeted at different audiences. FWIW, there are far more liberal commentators on FOX then there are conservative commentators on MSNBC. I have no issues with either network. That's what remotes are for, to flip back and forth.
