You can find numbers if you are looking for them.

This is a rolling average. People who enrolled between 2/16 and 3/15 don't even start coverage until April 1st, while anyone who enrolls between 3/16 - 3/31 won't start coverage until May 1st. In many cases, their first month's premium won't even be due until up to 6 weeks or more after they enroll. Considering how many people wait until the last minute to pay their bills, it's silly to write these people off as deadbeats. The vast majority of these will eventually be paid up, it's just that we won't have confirmation of many of them until well into MAY.

I always thought insurance was paid in advance? Don't know to many insurance companies that will cover you and your claim while betting your premium on the come.

    Your numbers are fictitious.

And what? There still a lot of time before coverage starts for a lot of people which is why it will take till May to get the final numbers. This is not real time data, it will take some time to get the final numbers.

As for my numbers which are not MY numbers but official statements.

"The health insurance companies report that more than 85 percent of those who have enrolled are paying their premium and getting coverage. That means 850,000 Californians are on their way to coverage through Covered California, which surpasses the top projection of 830,000.."

And at least I have got some numbers, what has your side got other than concern trolling and changing the subject?

Rolf. No one will testify that they know shit, but you have the numbers...... we'll see in a few weeks. Sad part is, when this thing crashes because you're side won't admit and apply the breaks when they had a chance, the impact will probably bankrupt the medical insurance industry.

Look, the numbers aren't hard to get IF you look for them, like the Wisconsin number came from this article in BIz Times.

Everything in that graphic is backed up by a source, it's not something that I have been pulling out of my ass.

Second, your worst case scenarios are based on hypotheticals on top of more hypotheticals. It's like the whole skewed polls nonsense few years ago. We will see what happens, right now the Cons are desperate to spin the huge enrollment numbers. Nothing unexpected, this is what they do.

    Ask the insurance companies.

"The numbers of nonpayers varied only slightly among the largest insurers on the exchange: Kaiser Permanente reported that 13 percent of its enrollees didn't pay. Anthem Blue Cross of California, Blue Shield and Health Net said it was closer to 15 percent."

    In the link you provided.

"Roughly 15 percent of the Californians who had enrolled by Jan. 31 still haven't sent in their first month's payment, according to four major health insurance companies participating in the Covered California exchange. So those lofty enrollment numbers could soon be dropping substantially."

"Health plans say they are doing everything possible to contact those enrollees who didn't pay -- through email, phone and snail mail. But it's becoming increasingly likely that tens of thousands of Californians could end up the way they started -- uninsured."

So if those lofty enrollment numbers will drop for non-payment, and it's likely tens of thousands will end up once again uninsured?

Tell me again how one can be considered enrolled while not paying the premiums as far as being hit for the fines and taxes. I'd really like to know. If it works that way, I'll stop paying my premiums and not worry about the penalties. Thus saving a bundle!

Great, try your plan and tell me how it goes because you seem to have found a great loophole!

It's the holy grail of insurance!

I'm very sorry to have befuddled you, let us review for clarification.

First you state: "Please show me which provision in ACA will lead to new taxes if those who enrolled didn't pay their premiums." your responce to the statement about fines and tax penalties on those not enrolled.

So I asked a simple question: "If you don't pay your premiums how can you be enrolled?"

Your reply was to ask the insurance companies and you provided a link.

The link you provided clearly states that those who fail to pay their premiums would be dropped and would be subject to the penalties. So I asked YOU the question again. How is it possible to not be enrolled and not pay the fines and tax penalties as you implied. My facetious question about really wanting to know so as to save a bundle, was in the hope that you would see the fallacy of that position.

Apparently my tongue in cheek question was way over your head since your reply was a snide remark insinuating that I proposed some "loophole" and was thus a fool.

In the future, I'll try to remember not to asked you question, use big words, or assume you have the reading comprehension skills to interpret more than a line or two at one time.
