All evidence points to only what the evidence is. Evidence doesn't draw it own conclusions. There is no data that refutes intelligent design, nor is there any data the confirms some force of randomness. We simply do not know...so why can't we just leave it at that? Why the need to make bold claims when the evidence is not verifying those claims? Science doesn't know why, real science knows what... The underlying why questions remain unanswered, and unanswerable...
Evidence? For Creationism? Creationists don't need evidence of any kind. It's a faith-based belief system. Things like facts and proofs don't matter to believers in the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Lately the Creationists have learned that the only way for them to compete in the modern world is to try to frame their belief as a scientific theory. The irony of this is not lost on some of us, although it's lost on the Creationists themselves. Thus we have Intelligent Design, a 'theory' without any facts to back it up, without any scientific evidence and one that cannot be disproved. One only has to examine the statements of the true Believers here on ET to understand what kind of minds we are dealing with. A few days back, one of the leading morons, peilthetraveler, said that you can get AIDS if someone who is HIV positive coughs on you. How does someone get to be such an idiot? Is it congenital or is it the result of the most badly misguided parenting possible? Interesting question.
