I love how you deny how you label all the right wing people on ET. And I love how you say that because the GOP is racist, they are nominating Romney, the liberal moderate over someone from say, the racist tea party. LOL. Ron, please read what you write before you post. It's a bunch of gibberish.
For the record, Mav is closer to correct than anyone on the tax thing. It seems that people are confusing the top marginal rate with the actual rate that someone pays. The 25% rate is only paid on income earned after $34,500. So someone earning $35K would only pay the 25% rate on $500 worth of income. On the first $8,500 they pay nothing, as they get the standard deduction. Then they would pay the 15% rate on everything else. After considering most common deductions and credits, The vast majority of people earning around $35K will pay less than 5% effective federal tax rate on total income. In fact, many studies show that most households with normal income levels only end up paying an effective rate around 16%, even though the top marginal rate is 25-28%. What it always came down to was that the more the family makes, the more deductions they typically qualify for.
Epic, if someone makes 47k a year they owe about 3,500 in taxes through each bracket. The EITC is 3500 thereby reducing their federal obligation to zero. This is why people say, anyone making under 47k a year pays no federal income tax. So you are correct about the brackets, but the credit is not a "deduction", it's an actual credit which means it comes off the bottom, not the top.
btw, thought I should provide a link to support my arguments about Paul not competing in states like FL, and also mainly trying to get enough delegates to have a voice at the convention. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politic...backup-strategy-while-seeking-the-nomination/ There are many instances of Jesse Benton suggesting that "if" Paul cannot win the nomination, the plan is to build their delegate count for future bargaining power. The main problem with this strategy is that he really needs someone else to challenge Romney for the nomination. If Romney easily wins, then Paul's 250 delegates won't matter at all. But if it is tight, then Paul's support means something to him.
I read his posts, I thought/think he's a liberatarian more than anything else. Yes, we see it from you and your fellow flaming liberals often here.
No, the child tax credit is something different. One can get both the EITC as well as the child tax credit.
What does this even mean? Are you implying that everyone in SC is a racist? Really? I don't even know what you are trying to say anymore. No...wait...oh yeah...everyone's a racist. Nevermind. LOL.
