  1. fox news. fair and balanced or make shit up to suit your agenda?
In newly uncovered audio, a Fox News executive boasts that he lied repeatedly during the closing days of the 2008 presidential campaign when he speculated on-air "about whether Barack Obama really advocated socialism."

Anyone have a really big "rolling eyes" emoticon I can borrow for this thread?
  4. Fox plays to their audience, tells them what they want to hear. It is proven recipe for making ratings and money.
  5. Murdoch is a consummate businessman. I think it is great.

He feeds his sheep Hannity and Beck, and the turns and ridicules them with the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad. They lap it up.:D

Bread and circuses worked then, it works now.

    Just like MSNBC.
  7. Where you think it is great, I think it is destroying the fabric of society. Not just Fox news, but the reduction of the media to barkers for a circus.

The press (which we now call the media) was thought to be an important part of democracy, and that a strong media was necessary to keep the electorate informed.

  8. That died with the election of an actor for President 777. Our fabric is irreparably damaged, we are beyond the event horizon. We will enter the black hole, and what is left, is what we can build from. I do believe that we can come back from this, but we are quite big, and you know what they say about the bigger they are........
  9. It became "media" when they put shit about Britney Spears, Lindsey Lowlife and Charlie Spleen on during what they called "news" time.

On the plus side it is a good barometer, because any time you see a "news story" like that show up on a particular channel, you know that network thinks you are an ass-clown, since that is the "news" they are serving you. :D
  10. That means that all do. I remember when Tiger got busted with all his women, it was the lead story on every news network except PBS.
