CBO says so but atleast it doesn't add anything to the deficit. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE61O4NV20100318
You keep repeating this, and I know you are well informed, so you must know it is the result of phony accounting. For example, they are counting on large cost savings from squeezing medicare, which everyone knows will never happen. There were also obvious issues with recognizing revenues before expenses were incurred. Bottomline, no one believes this atrocity will save money or be deficit neutral. Consumers are already feeling the increased costs on them.
Atleast there was an attempt to pay for the increased costs unlike Bush's bill which simply added to the deficit, I am just saying there is absolutely no comparison between the bills when it comes to deficits.
Because in the Senate it takes just a single Republican to stop anyone from doing anything positive. However, the Democrats did manage to improve things by getting rid of the ban on government agencies from negotiating with pharmaceutical companies, and that reduced costs.
So? If it's such a bad piece of legislation and the dems are the good guys looking out for all our best interests. Then what's the problem?
