Amsterdam is a very strange city. Half the people are really cool, and half the people are really crazy. Buses are strange there. Sometimes they charged me, sometimes they just told me not to worry about it. Stairs in amsterdam are extremely steep. I would not doubt that someone dies from falling down stairs at least once per day. (If you havent been, stairs there are nearly like ladders!) 20 feet from the church in the center of Amsterdam are prostitution windows. You cant avoid seeing them if you go to church there. Bike theft is rampant, although 99% of all bikes look alike so its possible that stoned people are just accidently taking the wrong bike. I do like the bikes though. Its so much nicer to hear a bike bell than a car horn. A car horn makes you want to punch someone. A bike bell doesnt.
