Hi stepan7, Thank you for all the effort you put into building this software. It's really a beautiful piece of work! I've not used ninjatrader and have been contemplating switching platforms. How many lines of code would need to be translated to support 8? Thank you for carrying it forward! btw, would you know what charting package Jack was using for his advanced expert method? https://www.elitetrader.com/et/attachments/2013-10-07_2056pp1et-png.139953/ from this thread- https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...-handed-to-me-on-a-daily-basis.275733/page-83 so grateful, thanks again! Cheers!
Are the supporting scripts available somewhere? It could be in one of the previous ones posted, I dunno, just starting it. Is there a thread that's a better place to start? I have a nostalgic attachment to drawing out the channels. In coming out a rabbit hole of studies, I was surprised to come across a further developed and extended method. I see the logical progression. Truly amazing work.
I don't believe the late Jack Hershey made any of his TN scripts available. There is a Hershey software thread on this site, so perhaps this discussion should be continued there. If you are interested in drawing the channels properly, then search for a NT 7.5 script by Pepe in the aforementioned software thread. By 'further developed and extended method', I presume you are referring to pure volume based trading that Jack outlined in 2014. If so, then 'fordewind' (from Fractal Theory: Redux thread) may have an excellent grasp of it as he seems to have automated much of it. Please share with us the 'logical progression' that you perceive.
Hmmm, ok. Makes sense, we have to earn what we seek. From what I can tell with: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...-handed-to-me-on-a-daily-basis.275733/page-60 up to this point Jack laid out all the pieces of his work. With his emphasis on RDBMS, all the tables and mathematical relationships were defined. I'm just getting my head around it. Given the fractal nature of the market, Jack's commitment to excellence, his profound teaching skills and his desire to receive the full offer of the market, it makes sense he would keep defining, refining and teach until the end of his days - which is clearly evident throughout his posting history. Let's take the ten cases of price. Here is a pic of arranging them spatially. Starting at a Sym Pennant, the Sym can transform into any of the other forms but at the progressive exclusion of the others. The only thing that comes before a XB is a FTP. The path to the outside bar on the other hand has multiple permutations of forms that exist from Sym Pennant to OB. ie. Sym -> FTP -> Hitch -> Stitch Short -> OB Sym -> FBP -> Hitch -> Stitch Long -> OB However once we see a hitch then XB and XR are not possible. Like branches chosen, if an FTP exist then a FBP cannot. If a Stitch Long exists a Stitch Short cannot. All in a march from Sym to end effects. Like the truth of 1,2,3, ftt/ve, fbo/bo sequence of interlocking and intranested fractals (intradependent on timeframes), long, short, long, short,... like the waves carried in the ocean. The market appealing to as many as it can, each wave with a beginning, a middle and an end. Jack defined the ends first. Then filled in the middle. The ten price cases are the fractal shape geometry that forms perception. One end. Volume has pace which is a leading indicator of price. Second end. PV relationship is literally what it is, fractal in nature, completes or is interrupted, continues or changes. If we have one we don't have the other, and if neither it's in the middle coming from one going to the other! To know something, we can start by knowing what it is not. We can anticipate because we know the pattern completes (or doesn't) which in and of itself nested with faster fractals. We can see WMCN in all the multi-fractal spectrum that it manifests itself. If not, then it was a WWT. Witness yet another different way for price action to unfold. As volume is the independent variable then there are potential sequences that play out like a squirrel climbing a tree. The higher he goes the more he excludes the branches not chosen. It makes sense to me that Jack figured out how to extract the most amount of capital (the market's TRUE FULL offer) by zooming in to 5min bar-by-bar timeframe. "How are you gonna extract the most about of capital if I were a bar? Well, I'd look in such a way that made the most people think they knew what I was gonna do next." Like two competing trends coming up to a Sym. Looking forward, the possibilities are endless yet looks like just one path when viewed in retrospect. Both intersect at now. It's all just so perfect.
I am not aware of any Jack's code for Trade Navigator. There are only one, made by Spydertrader, called PV Tools.
