Former RNC Chairman: I'm Gay

Discussion in 'Politics' started by hermit, Aug 25, 2010.

  1. Yes but hermy and the left are very desperate these days and are reaching for anything they can get.

Too bad about 80% of the voting population isn't listening to them anymore.

  2. According to the liberal California Attorney General who had full access to the unedited tapes. Here's an excerpt from their report:

The recordings establish ACORN employees across the country were willing to discuss with O’Keefe and Giles their plan to conduct a prostitution business, and a few even made suggestions for disguising profits and avoiding detection by law enforcement agencies. The most offensive conversations occurred outside California.

They found plenty of other wrongdoing. You should try reading the source documents sometime and not just media matters' and puffington's spin.

  3. Fox News Ignores Ken Mehlman’s Coming Out, Runs Zero Segments On Story

When Judge Vaughn Walker struck down Proposition 8, Fox News barely mentioned the story and its most prominent conservative commentators ignored it entirely. Yesterday, after the Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder reported that former RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman — who had orchestrated President Bush’s gay-bating 2004 re-election campaign — was coming out as gay, Fox News remained similarly mum and as of this posting has yet to run a single segment on the story.

A Wonk Room review of Critical Mention reveals that CNN mentioned the name “Mehlman” 19 times, MSNBC reported on it 12 times (searches for “gay” and “Ken” produced similar results, with Fox News stuck at 0):

It’s unclear why Fox News ignored the story, since some Republicans have embraced Mehlman’s coming out. The Wonk Room argues that Fox has a history of ignoring stories that undermine conservative causes.

  6. Why are people surprised? Homosexuals often get jobs that they shouldnt to hide who they are. If homosexuals didnt do this, then you would NEVER see any sex abuse cases in the church as 100% of those scandels were done by homosexuals.

  7. jem

    jem

    just to clear something up.

Being against Gay marriage is not homophobic. Its logical.

it is crazy to advocate for a change in a definition because it discriminates only replace it with a definition which unfairly discriminates.

  8. CNN/MSNBC harp on this because they probably like the story.

FOX ignores it because they probably hate the story.

As for the story - who gives a sh_t?

It is true he was gay long before he was a Republican, but would he have gotten that high-level job being openly gay back then?

  9. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but with the Republicans.

  10. I was in Republican politics way before Ken Mahlman and I know of no one, who didn't think he was gay. Obviously, very few in the GOP cared if he was or wasn't. (if you ever met him and I did, it was obvious) Further, a higher percentage of gays vote Republican than do Jews. So it was his Jewishness that was statistically odder in GOP circles than his gayness.

There are MANY gay Republican politicians. Are very many of them "out of the closet'? No. Why should they be? I like to watch BDSM porn. Am I "proud" of that? Would I like to wear a button 24/7 saying, "I'm a Perv!" Hardly. So I sure as hell can sympathize with those who don't feel the need to parade around with the permanent mark of "I Suck Dick" or "I Take It Up The Ass."
