All of these candidates are positioning themselves for a V.P. spot, or cabinet level jobs, other than Bernie, he's actually trying to run for President. His chance of that is zero. The true candidate to emerge down the road is a man, a black man. More to be revealed.
Warren is too shrill. Hell, even my wife, the liberal that she is, can't stand the way Warren screams her answer's. It's like she really doesn't have a lot of confidence so she screams, thinking that adds credibility. Warren, and Bernie, too, would take away your HC insurance, even if you want to keep it. Yeah, that's a winner. Believe it or not, but there are some very good co sponsored HC plans out there, like in the auto industry.
Warren would be the progressive choice, redistribution, open borders, free stuff and female. Just one oroblem, the DNC is controlled by its super delegates and Warren’s message runs contrary to their interests. She will not get the nod unless she moves right, which would infuriate her base. Same said for Bernie, this go around he has to deal with his age and whiteness. Neither will be on the ballot. Biden has the party’s blessing if he can stay awake. The DNC has failed to answer its internal problems of reconciling the fringe elements with the more moderate but shrinking base. They live under the delusion that the moderate and independents will just automatically vote in their favor. Hence the continual Anti-Trump rhetoric without facts or substance. But when the DNC’s older blue collar actual working class tax payers look around, they say “hey, things aren't so bad”. And the crap being purposed, to them, is a turn off. The more left the DNC shifts, the better the odds of Trump’s 2nd term.
Oh. indeed. She is a trainwreck. Who in that batch of dem candidates is not? I mean some of them are not a trainwreck on the personal level but are nevertheless a complete disaster for the top of the ticket. Take Pete Booty, for example, he is not stupid like most of the others but there is no indication anywhere at any time that he has even one minority person who will vote for him, or one blue collar guy. We could go one by one. They are all disasters, but my thinking presumes that they will have to land somewhere with someone and it will not be pretty. Warren would be an example of such and same. As I have said several times before, there is not a man alive who does not see Warren speaking and somewhere in the pit of his stomach or back of his pysche feel like his third grade teacher has re-appeared to chew his arse out for returning his school library books late- then she starts right in chewing him out on stage- just as he feared. She is the consummate boner-killer. Next to Hillary and Gillibrand. I see the wisdom and logic of those saying Biden will get it. But it is well established that I do not join with them. He is a dead man walking, It might take another ten months to get there, but the end will be the same. Joe Biden is not going to get the nomination. If it even starts to come close, the whole thing will shit the bed and descend into a brokered convention which will probably happen anyway. But you have animal forces that will unleash in a brokered convention that will not be pretty. and will not chose anyone short of a total lefty wingnut.
This isn’t a bad analysis. The democrats traditionally fall in love with their candidates whereas republicans fall in line. It is harder to get fringe Dems to vote for moderate candidates and vice versa in the general election than for republicans. This is definitely a problem for the left.
Dems don't fall in line? Is that why Hillary got the nomination last time and Sanders was shoved to go wait in the alley behind the convention center?
I like a number of the candidates. I don't know how far Pete Buttigieg will go, but the man speaks with remarkable eloquence and intelligence. Whatever happens, I hope he plays a meaningful role in a Democrat administration.
