Forex: Retail Leverage only 50:1

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by ubstrader_fx, Sep 18, 2012.

  1. I setup a brand new LLC for trading my own account, however I have learned that that Dodd-Frank 50:1 requirement also applies to LLC's.

Will a C Corperation work for smaller margin reqirements? How did you get around 50:1? Any stupid requirements, such as min capital, or will any C Corperation work? Someone from Citi and FXCM gave me a list of requirements-it looks like it will be easy to find a reason (investment company).

50:1 isn't the end of the world, but I would opt to not have unessessary capital tied up in broker accounts.

Thanks for all your help with my stupid question.

  2. No thoughts?

  3. 50:1 is enormous, why do you need more?

  5. 50-1 works for the EUR/USD... But it's only half the leverage of daytrade margin futures. If your strategy involves scalping a couple ticks or a few pips at a time you need serious leverage.
