Foreigners are fascinated with our politics. Why?

  1. Then why do you hate on Palin for making massive dough?

  2. Why do I "hate on" a governor who abandons their state and the people who voted them in?

Why do I "hate on" a woman who uses her deformed child as a stage prop to garner sympathy?

Why do I "hate on" a woman who lies about "death panels?"

Why do I "hate on" a woman who charges a $100,000.00 speaking fee at a teabagger convention?

Why do I "hate on" a self righteous woman who tells other people they should be abstinent when their own daughter is getting boned and impregnated by a teenage hockey player?

Why do I "hate on" a woman who shoots animals with a high powered rifle from a helicopter for sport?

    Obviously you have no clue...

  3. You turned this argument from something to do with capitalism and greed to Palin's political agenda.

I suspect you are arguing for the sake of arguing, as usual. Therefore I will leave you to babble. This thread has degenerated into nothing anyways.

  4. You think morality and being a good person is subordinate to capitalism...clearly in your world they are.

  5. That is a very good observation about some of the more vociferous ubercapitalists in this forum, many of whom I suspect are teenagers or thereabouts. What makes it all the more curious is that this bunch also tends to have a religious bent.

  6. The logical inconsistency is mind boggling with these people.

They had no problem with Bush and Cheney power grab, but spout "power corrupts" when it comes to Obama.

They trash Hollywood types when they become political, but worship Fox News entertainers like Hannity, Beck, and O'Reilly.

Power corrupts but love of money doesn't?

These people are seriously demented...and generally they preach that the US is a Christian nation...a Christian nation that puts greed as the greatest virtue?

  7. Exactly. I added to my previous post before I saw this comment. And isn't it interesting that these Christians have adopted Ayn Rand, an atheist, as their Holy Mother?

I'm an atheist, but I think I live by the Golden Rule more than most of the church going bunch here.

  8. Really? Kindly point with specificity to my extreme views.

  9. Don't get upset, T-Dog. You're hard left when it comes to the political spectrum. The ill will you've developed around here has as much to do with the incessant poll starting and complaining as it does with your views (well, almost). But you absolutely love it, otherwise you wouldn't spend the time here? Yes? No problem, we're all here for our own reasons. Call me anti-religion, and I won't have any problem with it, because I am and my posts reflect it.

  10. Actually, I don't love it. It upsets me. And since it is not something I can fix, I should walk away from it if I had any sense. What you see in many of my posts is an outrage at the small-minded stupidity of so many citizens of the greatest country on Earth, overrepresented right here at ET. I am not hard Left. I am left of center by varying degrees depending on the issue. The people who accuse me of being hard Left are too far Right and far too near-sighted to be able to make the distinction.
