For trading in FXCM, where do you get the historic data for system test?

  1. New babie's question: I am going to so system test and continue to trade in FXCM, is any historic data similar to FXCm availble to buy or freely download pls?

  2. With FXCM I am going to guess you are looking for Forex data. You didn't state which platform you will be using for testing, so the most common format is ascii as most platforms support it.

    Also, do you need intraday or EOD data? EOD data is free is you google for it. Intraday you will need to buy if your broker doesn't supply it or have a large back fill.

    For tick data, I use http://tickdata.com/. Its expensive but that is to be expected.

    If you need one minute data, I use Pi. The market version has all the major pairs for forex among other symbols/markets. http://pitrading.com/intraday_ascii_data_market_edition.htm
