By "professional" I assume you mean that it is done as my main source of income. While my trading profits do now exceed the income from my day job, I still live solely off of my regular income while allowing my trading capital to accumulate.

By discretionary I assume you mean not automated. I click the mouse myself. I do have defined set ups so I don't just click in and out willy nilly.

I've been consistently profitable since May 2024. I started trading during the early months of the 2020 pandemic so it took a little more than four years. I recently changed prop firms and I now trade with Topstep. As of this morning I have 5 express funded accounts that I copy trade.

Here is a post I made yesterday in another thread that shows the basic concept underlying how I do it. I trade ES and NQ.

cl is try and true trade, sell short strangles combo fops and buy the dip sell the rip, it is not the most profitable but it is bread and butter unexciting cash cow.

  3. Trade between key levels. Break outs fail 80% or more of the time.

Do you take note if price lows are staying above your SMA when the SMA is sloped up with a steep slope or you just trade the slope? In steep slopes lows will likely be above SMA line but not always. There can be deep PB's.
