    FALSE

Health authorities in Slovakia approved Ivermectin officially in January 26th 2021.

    Israel chose vaccination instead

You better take a look at the history of Covid lockdowns and restrictions in Slovakia.

You should notice now that @Van_der_Voort_4 continues ignoring the fact that these countries he continues to select in his debates have all used lockdowns, border closures, curfews, measures, and better public awareness about Covid along with their citizens understanding the importance of face mask wear to combat Covid.

On the flip side, you have the @jem that profoundly state lockdowns do not work. Also, when a country is presented to him that is making lockdowns work...they state it's only because it's either an island country, small country or an isolated country. Simply, they dismiss countries very easily that have successfully used lockdowns to combat Covid.
    • Slovakia is one of the few countries on this planet that has had a lockdown for almost an entire year. More importantly, Slovakia was still lockdown when Delta Variant was born late last year and making its spread (roots) in Europe and North America in early 2021.
Simply, Slovakia has avoided all the Covid crap involving re-opening at the wrong time along with not removing their restrictions on vulnerable high-risk groups within their country.

    Slovakia

The lockdown included the closure of all schools, restaurants, bars, and shops except for grocery stores, pharmacies, and banks—as well as a ban on all public events and gatherings. The country also secluded itself by closing all airports and implementing mandatory quarantine for citizens returning from abroad. But unlike in some other countries, physical movement of individuals remained largely unrestricted.
    • The lockdown measures have only worked because of the second factor: an immediate and universal compliance by the Slovak population.
People did what they were told, even though Slovakia is generally plagued by low levels of trust in politicians and the government, according to the European Values Study. Slovaks acted voluntarily without the need for large-scale coercive enforcement.

The response by the country’s political elites surely contributed to this compliance. Though Slovakia saw partisan conflict over who was responsible for the lack of preparation, there was no disagreement about the seriousness of the threat or the need for the lockdown itself—unlike in the United States, where federal and state authorities have clashed.

This is where the third factor comes in. More than the functioning of public institutions, experts credit the media as crucial to Slovakia’s success. The universal use of face masks—instituted early despite the dismissive attitude of the World Health Organization—has become a symbol of Slovakia’s response to the coronavirus.
    • A pivotal moment came on March 13, when the anchor of the country’s most popular television program, Zlatica Puskarova, hosted incoming Prime Minister Igor Matovic and his health minister. Puskarova began by asking the government officials why they didn’t lead by example, handing them two face masks.
They complied immediately, and from the next day the whole country started making and wearing face protection. Since then, no Slovak politician, news reporter, or celebrity would be seen in public without a mask.

    ----------

Slovakia still has strict measures in place for those entering their country:

Persons entering Slovakia must undergo isolation in their home environment or a quarantine accommodation facility. Your isolation will end:
    • in the case of an asymptomatic course of isolation by completing its 14th day, or
    • by obtaining a negative result from an RT-PCR test for COVID-19. You can take the test on the fifth day of isolation at the earliest.
Isolation of children under the age of twelve terminates (if asymptomatic) by ending the isolation of persons living with them in the same household.

During the period of home isolation, isolation is also obligatory for people living in the same household.

The isolation duty does not apply to:
    1. fully vaccinated persons,
    2. persons specified in § 6 - 8 of the Decree
    ----------

Israel has very low face mask compliance only because of their culture and traditions which is why they're relying heavily on vaccinations and essentially very little reliance on anything else.

Every country is different which is why I try hard not to make a country to country comparisons.

Yet, Slovakia has also had recent protest problems like other countries about these types of restrictions, curfews, measures.

As a follow-up -- the hospital says the Ivermectin did not help whatsoever.

Wife of COVID-19 patient says husband's condition has improved since Ivermectin treatment; hospital disagrees
    https://www.wlwt.com/article/wife-o...improved-since-ivermectin-treatment/37477748#

    Some text:

Attorneys for the hospital claim that there has not been a notable improvement since the treatment began. They said Jeffrey Smith is not entitled to receive off-label medical treatment from an outside doctor.

"Nor is West Chester Hospital obligated to provide a highly controversial medication that is discouraged by the FDA, CDC, AMA and every credentialed, board-certified physician at the hospital," said Charles Galvin, attorney for UC West Chester.

Galvin said administering the drug goes against what doctors believe to be the best interest of patient care.

"The hospital staff has been thrown into upheaval over the course of treatment that goes against all their training and education. Granting the preliminary injunction will only continue this upheaval," Galvin said.

I heard an opinion (and can't say I disagree) that in my mind absolves him. The judge "ordered" the hospital to administer IVM because the guy's doctor prescribed it. Now, the guy's doctor appears to be from one of these frontline group clones, but the judge is no medical expert and has to defer to "the professionals", even if they appear to be terrible ones.
