With news of all these quant funds doing poorly in this volatility does this mean reversion funds profits are all based on luck? Will your friends fund survive a few more days of this?
I'll tell you what I think. These funds made $ as a from of Ponzi. As more of them came on board, the new $ paid for the old trades. since they all did the same crap, thats how it was done.
