Yeah i shorted TM too and it didnt really go anywhere made a small profit, but locked it in before it turned and would have ripped my face off thats why i didnt hold the other 2.

What's your strategy like? I get subscribing to his twitter and shorting (personally I have google alerts for 'trump appoint'), are you going naked, minimum on a margin account?

What I'm afraid is the market is going to 'wise up' to his antics and the tweets won't cause any volatility in the future. Boy that cried wolf sorta thing.

Indeed. It will be. 100%. Market taking cues off his words now. Becoming obvious. I went heavy long VIX after the election figuring the market would actually research what this guys platform is. No dice. Lost a good chunk. It's all whatever flows from his mouth on whatever particular day....

Ive seen lots of trades like the ones you mentioned, only took the 2 plus TM which was basically a scratch, (tiny profit) basically listen to him when hes talking live, if you can find a stock while its still on the first big bar of the move hit it hard, obviously dont short it on the third or fourth big bar up/down, worst case if your early its a scratch cause news takes a while to cycle to everyone, the key is being early, if you get alerted to a stock thats already put in 3 or 4 massive bars and THEN you figure out it was cause of trump your most likely too late, may have been an oversimplification just saying follow his twitter, but you got to be on the ball when he is speaking anywhere, cause he has no filter and he will shoot his mouth off about something.

There is dozens of charts that did the same thing PFE or AA did on those days but those were among the first tickers i pulled up based on what he was saying and those were the charts that made sense.

I also have a chatroom with a half a dozen traders who are way better than me, so i might be taking for granted that we are deciphering trumps words amongst ourselves way before it becomes a headline.

If your trading a headline/press release when trump speaks your probably already late, need to be on the ball during his press conferences and literally go short or long the second words come out of his mouth.

The effect Trump is having on stocks reminds me of when Citron was at its prime, they used to put out a tweet and a stock would be down 30% within an hour or two.
