And God does not necessarily exist just because an old and inconsistent text says he does, particularly when it demands that you accept the premise on blind faith.
LOL. If you can't beat'm, ignore'm. That's OK Rcan, you'll get another shot at him when you come back with your next (in the series) screenname. JB
Translation: I couldn't handle the fact that he was dismantling my 'arguments' and I couldn't figure out a way to answer his calls for clarifications of the inconsistencies in my 'position'. I'll post my ridiculous faithmongering under this username for a while, and then, like I did with rcanfiel, I'll abandon my beliefs and start again with a new username and a new set of beliefs. And by the way... I'm not a hypocrite.
"You see many stars at night in the sky but find them not when the sun rises; can you say that there are no stars in the heaven of day? So, O man! because you behold not God in the days of your ignorance, say not that there is no God."
" Though verily, you do actually see many stars at night though not in the heavens of the day, but woe, you see not God, neither in the heavens of night or day. Until then, O man! of your ignorance, get a clue"
Why does ignorance run in packs? Stu dismantled nothing. There weren't any inconsistencies. I understood everything he asked, and much of it was logically weak. He demands proof, and supplies none himself. He reverses something, and somehow thinks that is therefore proved. He has little knowledge in the arenas discussed, and avoids answering my questions or responses. And then he keeps after weak arguments without fail. If his ignorance makes him happy, I will waste no more breath. And what does that have to do with your being a hypocrite - is that one of the random thoughts that just happened to run through your head?
Perhaps, sir, for the same reason that you are a team player. http://atheismblog.blogspot.com/ http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/richard_carrier/theory.html
Why did the believer of a creator have to ask the creator of the hydrologic cycle to change the very cycle he created? If the creator created the cycle, and the creator is all knowing, then why did one of his believers have to ask the creator to change it in the first place? If the creator created the cycle to not rain for many days, then it was part of his design. So why is a believer questioning and asking his creator to make changes?
Translation: I had to change my username here because I embarrassed myself so badly posting as rcanfiel. I know this is obvious, because after all, what reason would there be to switch usernames if this weren't the case? I don't have the strength of mind to just admit it when asked to explain why I changed usernames. I take the same approach that I take when someone asks me hard questions about my ridiculous faith-based assertions - I pretend I didn't hear it. This is the most effective way for me to deal with hard questions. If all else fails, I can just start spouting off about how the other party 'has little knowledge'. And by the way... I'm not a hypocrite.
