Here is my opinion. Those who are not believers are scared to seek Salvation merely because they don't want to miss out on something the world has to offer. They should realize what the world has to offer is temporary; failing to realize that Jesus will provide eternity. To be frank, non believers don't realize they will spend eternal life in HELL. I pray for those people to come to Christ.
I am not an expert in the Field of science. However I have read many of the post here and Science is becoming a defense against Christ. There have been several references to the Big bang. Lets remember The Big Bang is just a Scientific Theory. Theory being the key word. The usage of theory leads to common incorrect statements, which can translate to, theory is not necessarily based on facts. It takes just as much faith to believe in Science as God.
Look up the definition science theory, it may change your view. I found this on another site and thought you'd appreciate it. "Evolution is ONLY a theory and should NOT be taught in school. Gravity is ONLY a theory and should NOT be taught in school. Relativity is ONLY a theory and should NOT be taught in school. There is no such thing as a law in science only theories, therefore science should not be taught in school. Fact In Leviticus 24.16: And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death. Deuteronomy 13.10: And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Deuteronomy 17.5: Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. The only logical conclusion and our mission as a Christian or Jew we must unite and stone to death those who preach evolution. So it is written so it shall be done."
Actually it takes much more faith to believe in science and evolution then creation. Few people realize that Charles Darwin was 22 years old when he went to the Galapagos's islands and he only spent 3 years there. The entire school of thought of evolution is based upon a 25 year old boys, 3 years of observations ... lol. What I want to know is what about the monkeys we have today? are they just slow learners and in 25 more million years will they be human too The whole concept of evolution actually makes a lot of sense once you add God to the equation because he fills in the miracle parts that science doesn't understand yet. Let's also not forget that the greatest scientist of all times (Albert E) was a devote Jew that believed in God. Science only explains Gods work and tries to make it understandable for our small minds. My people die through lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6
Since a literal interpretation of Genesis is without a doubt indefensible, one should not hold a literal interpretation. There are several other interpretations of Scripture recognized for centuries by the Roman Catholic Church and also by Protestants (Martin Luther discussed these in depth). Christians should not ditch Genesis and other books just because they are not literally true. Rather, they may choose to consider Genesis as "true" in other ways. Scientists may see value in science fiction, recognizing, of course, the many differences. Likewise, Christians can still have faith in the Bible, even while recognizing that Genesis 1-3 could not have literally happened. If it had, then the evidence in God's created order would confirm it.
Science is the theoretical explanation of phenomena. Theory is an assumption based on limited information or knowledge. Assumption is something taken for granted or accepted as true without proof. So an atheist says one should believe in theories based on assumptions that are not proven ? The fact still remains is it takes just as much faith in science as it does in God so it is pointless for an atheist and theist to debate because they both can't prove either.
