What is a morally ugly situation is the circumstances in Latin America that create an endless supply of people fleeing their hell-hole to come the United States. http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/23/news/economy/venezuela-us-asylum-refugees/index.html
I am still Learning about Latin America. Why do many of its population believe they will be better off in the USA?
Very few of the Dreamers are from Venezuela so this story has no relation to DACA. The situation is Venezuela has everything to do with socialism. Keep in mind that Venezuela has been promoted as a great example of liberal policies in the past by Bernie and other Democrats.
No. I rise to disagree with that. It has everything to do with it. The root cause of dreamers arising here are the shiite-hole conditions in Latin American countries. That is the root cause that should be focused on rather than the smallstops argument that it is just Americans being morally ugly. If anything, Venezuela makes the case. It was-for a longtime- the most or at the top of the most prosperous countries in Latin American until the Socialist Workers Paradise shiite the bed. Now that it has collapse, migrants and refugees are coming bigtime and there are plenty of kids with them. Add a few years to that- the same dynamic that arise in other countries- in there will be as many dreams and their parents and the kids they have while here as you want and then some. If there are not that many here yet, it is due to one thing, and one thing only, the welcome mat is not down anymore and it is more difficult to get across the border and they are worried that if they come they may just end out getting deported. If Hillary Open Borders Clinton had been elected the numbers would be vastly different already. Meanwhile, Mexico complains that it is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that Mexico is now an end destination point for many rather than just a pit-stop for the police to rape the immigrants, shake them down financially, and let the coyotes get rich. Yeh, and all of that is because of the "moral ugliness" America. NOT.
Actually most of the people who fled Venezuela for the U.S. are from the upper-middle and wealthy class; they were fleeing the socialist oppression of Chavez and Maduro. Even those trying to get to the U.S. today using family resources for travel via plane are from these former upper classes. These people show up asking for political asylum, they don't show up as illegal immigrants after walking across the border. DACA applies to none of these people from Venezuela, they are most interested in our asylum process. These folks from Venezuela are very different than the poor people fleeing central American countries on foot via Mexico, or poor people moving from Mexico across our border on foot for better economic opportunity. These illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America greatly outnumber the number of asylum seekers (a mere 14,700 in 2016) flying in from Venezuela. These illegal immigrants are much poorer than than the families arriving from Venezuela (who have the ability to sustain themselves in the U.S. without jobs for many months). In summary, the people fleeing Venezuela generally come from "wealth" and are fleeing political oppression. The illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America are walking here for economic opportunity -- even though some from Central America try to claim they are fleeing gang violence as part of their big not to be deported. DACA applies to none of the families from Venezuela. DACA does apply to 800,000 illegal immigrant family members from Mexico and Central America.
Alright, well, there are many paths to go down but just to get grounded, smallstops took a shot at the moral ugliness of Americans and I replied that it was the shiite-hole conditions providing an unending supply of Latin Americans wanting to come to this country who are the root of the problem. I stand by that and that it applies to Venezuela and to daca kids even if their particular journey takes different forms and one group has more money than the other. Also, I said that the venezuelan exodus is in its earlier stages and yes it is the wealthier ones who can fly here who are the first to arrive. However, the notion that it is only wealthy people fleeing for political oppression is absurd. As I said they are the first to arrive here, but there massive, massive numbers of poor and others who have fled to Columbia, Brazil and Guyana who are just flat out trying to avoid starvation. They have eaten all the animals in the zoo and been on the "Maduro diet" for years and are at survival level now. Shiite-hole conditions. In addition, the somewhat artificial distinction between economic migrant and refugee has become blurred in recent years. Almost every illegal immigrant crossing into this country now -either by border or air- has been counseled that they should claim to be a political refugee fleeing persecution if they are apprehended because if they do that they are entitled to detention and a hearing where they will be released into the community pending their hearing. If they are just an economic migrant and say they want a better job or life, then various treaties and laws do not apply and border patrol can just transport them back across the border. So yes to all of your various points in general but my message to smallstops remains the same. Just the wealthy fleeing venezuela to avoid political oppression? No it is far, far beyond that now. They were just the first wave. http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/05/americas/mothers-flee-venezuela-crisis/index.html
The American kids are free to go with them. I don't know about the other countries, but I know Mexico already considers you a citizen of Mexico if your parent is Mexican, so they wont have any problems going there. I mean, we're not shipping these people off to jail. It's another country with beautiful weather, inexpensive housing, good food...Now that I think about it...why can't I get deported to mexico too!
Not really necessary if you are in California which is a northern state of Mexico. Just sit back and let Mexico continue to come to you.
looking forward to worldwide pictures/videos of US police rounding up many children to bring them to places. We'll then find out how many Americans will be able to justify how beautiful such type of morality is. If one can't draw the lines, then one has to wonder.
