Well, he did manage to stomach it, at least until after Trump was elected. Funny he never considered it obstruction but Trump putting in a word for a guy he felt sorry about, that is some kind of crime? The fact is, under the Constitution the DOJ and FBI answer to the President, not the other way around. He can tell Comey not to prosecute anyone he wants. The only remedy is impeachment. Likewise, he can pardon anyone he wants, for any reason. In Clinton's case of pardoning Marc Rich, the reason looked a lot like money. Somehow democracy survived.
Because he never had a real investigation going to back down from. When he came close, by referring to an investigation Loretta told him to tone it down. When he started to use the language "gross negligence," he backed down to Stolz who replaced the language with "extreme carelessness." That's fine. Go ahead and continue with your Bagdad Bob clown routine. There are a lot of interesting developments taking place to move this situation forward and you are stuck on stupid trying to defend the things that even Comey objected to. Go for it. Meanwhile no real of investigation of Hillary has been undertaken. Something to look forward to. If you want to email Comey to discuss it, then good. He has the time. giggle.
Thats the funny thing, democrats are twisting themselves in knots now trying to figure out a crime trump has supposedly commited, now they are claiming obstruction of justice cause the whole russia collusion narrative fell apart. Supposedly its illegal for Trump to say that Flynn is a good guy to Comey, when Trump could have just pardoned flynn if he wanted too....... its so funny watching this thing fall apart on them.
Right, Comey seems to have a lot of things that he is okay with until he isn't. He never removed himself in outrage or reported attempted obstruction of justice to his superiors and saw no crime until Trump told him he did not have job. Then suddenly everything was interpreted as obstruction of justice. I know I digress but that little prick weasel Preet Bhahara did the same thing. He went over to Trump Towers or one of Trumps places to talk to Trump about his job. When he thought he had it nailed down he was okay with Trump. But when he was asked to submit his resignation along with the others- thus removing the thought that he was special- he suddenly had all sorts of investigations going on Trump that apparently needed to be stepped up. As we keep learning, some of these walk on water types, are actually just hacks.
