No sane person could possibly want to be POTUS. You have to have serious issues and/or be mad with powerlust to put up with BS like this.

PETA wishes Obama hadn't swatted that fly

WASHINGTON – The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the flyswatter in chief to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he's bedeviled by a fly in the White House.

PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

"We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals," PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. "We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals."

During an interview for CNBC at the White House on Tuesday, a fly intruded on Obama's conversation with correspondent John Harwood.

"Get out of here," the president told the pesky insect. When it didn't, he waited for the fly to settle, put his hand up and then smacked it dead.

"Now, where were we?" Obama asked Harwood. Then he added: "That was pretty impressive, wasn't it? I got the sucker."

Friedrich said that PETA was pleased with Obama's voting record in the Senate on behalf of animal rights and noted that he has been outspoken against animal abuses.

Still, "swatting a fly on TV indicates he's not perfect," Friedrich said, "and we're happy to say that we wish he hadn't."

Deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said the White House has no comment on the matter.

This it not (repeat NOT) from The Onion. The Onion cannot parody PETA - nobody can - because PETA is a self-parody.
  3. This whole fly swatting episode is getting way too much attention. It has completely thrown the media off track. They need to report on the stories that are of public importance like the Obama's dog and Michele's veggie garden. These are the stories we want to hear about. These are not only the stories we want to hear about, these are the stories we NEED to hear about.
  4. I wonder,

where did PETA get the blood they used to throw on people wearing fur?

Do any PETA members have leather in their house or car?

Do any PETA members own a dog, at or other pet that is cruelly kept from living its normal wild life?

Do any PETA members eat meat, fish, poultry, dairy products, honey or eggs? (all from cruel treatmemnt of animals)

Do PETA members eat plant matter, knowing how many small animals and insects are killed from planting, fertilizing or reaping? Or are killed by runoff, such as the Dead Zone off the Mississippi Delta? Do they eat anything that was grown via bone meal or blood meal?

Do any PETA members have abortions? Do they all oppose the death penalty? Do they consider keeping prisoners locked up as inhumane treatment?

Do all PETA members walk only on concrete so as not to step on any living thing hidden on the grass? That is what some Eastern religions do.

If a black bear was carrying off a PETA member's child and had a gun, would they shoot the bear or let it go?

    ETC. ETC.

  5. PETA will also be distributing luxury condo for cockroaches in inner cities.

This device will allow man and cockroach to live side by side in harmony, with each cockroach receiving a luxury condo in failed real estate projects and all the niceties that go along with said condos.
  6. swatting flies. Gimme a break. Just shows the mentality of the media and some of the viewers.

Bacteria are just little bugs, surely PETA wants us to stop killing them, too. E. Coli has just as much right to life as you do. If you weren't a selfish rotten person, you wouldn't slaughter so much bacterium every day.
  8. I can't believe the nasty bastard killed it on the back of his hand.

How low class can you get??
