  1. Commonly Used Atrazine Herbicide Adversely Affects Fish Reproduction

ScienceDaily (May 20, 2010) — Atrazine, one of the most commonly used herbicides in the world, has been shown to affect reproduction of fish, according to a new U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) study.

"Concentrations of atrazine commonly found in agricultural streams and rivers caused reduced reproduction and spawning, as well as tissue abnormalities in laboratory studies with fish," said USGS scientist Donald Tillitt, the lead author of the study published in Aquatic Toxicology.

  2. Maybe the fat head minnow was shy reproducing in front of a bunch of perveted voyerist scientists glaring waiting watching timing filming recording every movement. ewwwww!!! Sick fuckers those scientists.:D

    Atrazine Evaluation Process
EPA Press Release, October 7, 2009

Atrazine Science Reevaluation; Potential Health Impacts, October 7, 2009 (EPA-HQ-OPP-2009-0759-0003)

Given the new body of scientific information as well as the documented presence of atrazine in both drinking water sources and other bodies of water, the Agency determined it appropriate to consider the new research and to ensure that our regulatory decisions about atrazine protect public health. Atrazine’s re-evaluation process has always been dynamic, not static. This review is based on transparency and sound science, including independent scientific peer review. Based on this evaluation, the Agency will decide whether to revise its current atrazine risk assessments and whether new restrictions are necessary to better protect health and the environment.

EPA is considering the potential for atrazine cancer and non-cancer effects, including data generated since 2003 from laboratory animal and human epidemiology studies. To be certain that the best science possible is used to inform its atrazine human health risk assessment, and to ensure transparency, EPA is seeking advice from the independent FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP).

EPA is engaging the SAP to reevaluate the human health effects of atrazine. On November 3, 2009, EPA presented its plan for the atrazine re-evaluation. In 2010, the Agency planned three SAP meetings to address atrazine issues; two of these SAP meetings were already scheduled.

February 2-4, 2010 – EPA presented and sought scientific peer review of its proposed plan for incorporating epidemiology studies into the atrazine risk assessment.
April 26-29, 2010 – EPA presented and sought peer review of its evaluation of atrazine effects based on experimental laboratory studies that will inform the selection of endpoints and safety factors in the risk assessment, and the sampling design currently used to monitor drinking water in community water systems.
September 14-17, 2010 – EPA will present and seek peer review of its evaluation of atrazine non-cancer effects based on experimental laboratory studies and epidemiology studies. This review is intended to include any new experimental laboratory data since the April SAP meeting.
The Agency had hoped the new results from the epidemiological Agricultural Health Study evaluating the potential association between atrazine and cancer risk would be available for consideration at the SAP meeting in September; however, the results will not be available at that time. In 2011, another peer review will be held concerning the Agricultural Health Study findings as well as epidemiology and laboratory animal studies.

At the conclusion of this evaluation of atrazine’s human health effects, EPA will ask the SAP to review atrazine’s potential effects on amphibians and aquatic ecosystems. The meetings of the SAP will be open to the public.

Your LOVED EPA is about as capable of determining safety (with all the AGENDAS in play) as the FDA............ http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=206077
