On the basis, Sweden which you ignore well, proves Herd is only a 0.06% fatality rate, we should get on with our lives and your lot, should stay at home for ever and let the rest of us get on with our lives / jobs. Vaccine, most people aren't stupid enough to take a high risk, barely tested vaccine which isn't even needed because we've all had it.
But the economy and the jobs it provides kinda pays for important things, like a roof over our heads, food to stop you starving, hospital treatment in the USA's case, Cars and a LIFE to stop you getting so bored you top yourself. Just you think a few old peoples lives are more important than millions of young people that will be out of work living on next to nothing for the next 10years. Not that lockdowns actually save any old peoples lives, thats just a lie you choose to believe, odd charts with lockdowns all look like sweden's without a lockdown, very odd.
Sweden compared to UK chart. Well worth the 350Bil spent and counting, 1million job losses which are still increasing daily.
This thing is ridiculous, I wrote many times already in Madrid which was allegedly so hard hit and where you can hardly meet a group of people where no one has had covid yet, we´re wondering where the casualties are (but we know that, in care homes and among very weak people mostly on their last leg in life). No deal to no huge deal for young and middle + aged people, slim or overweight. Had the chance to share a meal this week end with a neighbor, who is an officer as the military/Nato base in Torrejon de Ardoz, one of the hardest hit cities in Spain, just outside Madrid. Well it turns out there have been lots of cases at the base, of people who at worst hardly noticed they had covid and often didn t notice it all. Don´t know anyone who has been hospitalized, only heard about those. Crazy overreaction, which raised the worst authoritarian instincts in politicians worldwide. We´re on a peripherical lockdown here, which means we can´t leave our hometown but all businesses stay open with (imo often ridiculous) restrictions. So far we don´t care much about the travel ban and many places are very lax in how they follow the current rules, but who knows how bad it will get, political war between Madrid and Spanish government probably doesn´t help. Curious to know how many of those 200k casualties in the US could live without heavy medical support before they caught the covid.
There trying based on the science as they keep saying but refuse to publish the science a 2-3 week lockdown where everyone stays home pretty much in the UK. Deaths get this, estimated between 3k and 107k kind of a big range if they don't do this, guess there hoping people will read the 107k and ignore to 3k also this will keep the rate below 0.4% currently 0.07%. Lads real dads new gf tested positive so he's stuck at his for 14days or £10,000 fine, nobody has symptoms totally ludicrous. Madness just isn't going to stop, everyone is scared again, town like a ghost town earlier, people be stupid.
Lots of people in that situation here, sometimes just because someone tested positive in one of their kids´class ( works like this in my kids´primary school section, but not secondary, yet it seems they closed the class a whole week in a friend´s 6th grader´s son class (year 7 in the UK, so middle school here) after his boy tested positive. Utter disaster, this friend household had to stay quarantined 3 weeks until the son who was otherwise healthey tested negative at last, all others negative in the household). Saying he´s upset is an understatement. Other healthy friends have been quarantined recently because of their contacts btw, such a waste. Also streets are rather quiet here and not all kids are allowed out as they used to, but not clear parents are afraid of covid or of being quarantined with their kids not allowed to go to school and themselves not allowed to work, which is not totally senseless considering the consequences of having a contact with a positive person and the large number of those at the moment. I try to keep my kids seeing as many friends and do as much sports as they can anyway, but it is certainly much more complicated than it used to be.
Bad news is many countries in Europe are on their way to very tough restrictions, not sure how trustworthy surveys are but in France 72% a few days ago came out saying they would be ready to go through another stay at home order. On the other hand, while spaniards were the most afraid of the virus until recently, last survey came out with 70% of spaniards against a new stay at home order. Might be the effect of coming out of the strictest lockdown in Europe and wondering where the victims are... Covid numbers are coming down in Madrid, not clear whether it is from the moderated restrictions imposed by Madrid a few weeks ago, before the Central government intervened ( relaxing rules for some, toughening them for the majority) or because less tests are now made with Madrid trying hard to show less cases.
It all sucks and causes more deaths than the virus, but ignore those just focus on the covid deaths and be good citizens lol I care about the extra deaths, ONS stated 3x's covid deaths recently out independent stats guys, I was figuring on 2x's jesus fing christ, 15k real covid, 45k extra there stats murdering bastards.
As southpark said, everyones lost there jobs and nobody has died, well only old people you expected to die cause there old and they used to die of natural causes.
An oversimplification but the in the essence it is much like this, lockdown sure killed a lot of people as well.
