I live in FL and really like it. California seems like a better place to live if money is no issue, but if it is you are better here. For what you pay in Cali you can live very well in this state.

  4. True...but I can run away from a hurricane..and I can't run from earthquakes..
I figure that natural disaster stuff is draw..
plus, the place I'm looking at is on the Tampa area..

The humidity..yes..that sucks...and the bugs too...these are all things I'm considering..

Weather here in Socal is pretty fuckin good...but it does get too hot in the summer...and the air is so dirty..

  6. Having grown up and surfed in So Cal, the water temps are much warmer in Florida. When I was living in Nor Cal, the water was 66F in August in Santa Cruz, ouch!

But I don't know that I could handle the humidity in Florida. Last time I was in Miami in May at 10:00 PM on SoBe it was 80F air temp and around 80 humidity level, much too high for my liking. So humid I didn't even want to drink, just runs out as sweat.

Los Angeles is full of patrol cars. And if that's not enough, there's the news & police choppers up in the air 24/7. Those birds have more flying time than some 3rd country Air Force.

I'll second the Port St. Lucie vote....there are some dirt, dirt cheap homes there.....maybe even .50 on the dollar.....the local economy there has few jobs & is getting hammered
