I'm looking at single family homes in Miami Beach. For all you Miami veterans, are these bubble prices, that is, would you wait a year or two, or is there "nowhere to go but up"?
ACK! If you plan to live there for awhile, go for it. But if it's for investing or speculative purposes, I'd think twice.
I do plan to live there for a while, but that doesn't mean I couldn't rent for a while, at least till this mania blows over. Or will it?
Please clarify the question. You are looking. What price range? There is very little (formally) for sale...(talking HOUSES HERE...NOT Condos). The last time Miami saw a boom like this was 1926, then a hurriacane issued in a BUST, 3 years before the stock market crash. Will history repeat? Thinks are alot diffferent now. Miami is a major destination as well as PLACE OF ORIGIN now, so any recovery from a crash IMHO, will be short lived. That doesn't mean we will not have a shake!
Its a great place if you want to learn spanish, you will need it in in some areas, One thing that can't be understate is the traffic the mass transit is useless, You will spend more time in your car getting to and from Anywhere Than you can Imagine. Spend two mouth there and you will ether Love it or hate,a week on Vacation is not enough Time. Or try Fort Lauderdale.
you will love it down here....trust me. No you dont have to be fluent in spanish unless you plan on living on 8th street or hialeah...and yes public transportation is at its infancy or not quite up to par...but traffic will only be a problem the further west you live...live central and you gots no problem...
I agree.....you have to live in the right neighborhood.....Miami is like a virus....you either catch it or you don't.......
