As a rule of thumb if the democrats have been in control of a major metropolitan area for more than 10 years - you will see major financial problems and sky high taxes on the horizon. Stay away from cities run by democrats. They have systematically destroyed the tax base in just about every city they control.

New York in the hands of democrats. A disaster. Atlanta, Philly, L.A., California is being destroyed by democratic legislature.

How anyone can not see that democrats destroy cities is beyond me. it is the history of cities. Dems get in control - raise taxes - tax base moves.

There's a tee shirt that's perfect for you. Imprinted within an outline of the state of Texas is:

    SOMEWHERE IN TEXAS
    A VILLAGE IS MISSING
    ITS IDIOT

Uh huh, Republicans are doing a great job in Florida. Their latest adventure in legislation is an attempt to suppress voter registration and turnout. Unlike his sad predecessor Jebbie, Crist has done a good job governing toward the middle and for the people rather than his party. Don't be at all surprised if he vetoes the aforementioned voter crap if it passes.

If Jebbie didn'y cause major problems, like a real estate crash, insurance and water issues and budget problems, he surely exacerbated them.

I lived in Florida while Jeb Bush was governor.

I never voted for his dad and I voted for w once.

But, I will say Jeb seem to do a great job as governor.

I have no idea why you are blaming him.

The florida legislative body seemed to be so numb to the demands of the people - I suspect they are as corrupt as the California legilature.

If you saw how city spending when up dramatically as taxes rose you would know what caused the problems.

The insurance issue is a combination of bad policy and insurers recognizing Florida might be a big risk going forward.

If jeb bush caused these problems - I would like to see proof.

I could then despise the whole bush family.
