Guys, Do you think there any advantages on trading in the floor of an exchange such as the CME or CBOT vs trading in the comfort of your home?

these days seats are going for record prices so leases are likewise very high. I believe to lease a seat these days is at least 3-4 thoasand, likely higher.

Is it worth it? I cant imagine being able to make a living with a lease that high. personally I do not believe in scalping I am a position trader and like to hold my positions for some time.

    Thoughts?

  2. the only reason you should floor trade would be to take advantage of the order flow, for scalping the spread which becomes free money.

but it takes time to develop relationships with the floor brokers, since these guys will be the ones feeding you and sending your kids to school.

if your the new guy on the floor/pit, the order flow will be hard to come by and you will become frustrated and start position trading, which basically you can do at a desk.
