Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows of prop firms that offer a different strategy to scalping in NY. I graduated about 1 1/2 year ago from college and started trading right away at a prop firm. Did okay I guess, (made roughly $20K pretax) so far but am trying to now explore my options. I feel a longer term strategy especially in this market is much more profitable but my firm environment is really not conducive to that type of style. From reading on this forum it appears these firms below are what I'm looking for: 1. Bright Trading 2. Bear Capital Fund 3. Capstone co. 4. Ronin Capital, llc. 5. Transmarket Group, llc. I'm looking for a firm that has a formal training process rather than just assigning me to some random "mentor" since I know that can really be a hit or miss. Ideally, I would like to go without capital contribution but if I have to I'm really hoping for something less than the $5k standard because I know it's probably going to be a long process again for me to start making and I don't exactly have that much saved up from my measly $20k. This might be a long shot but if anyone can offer any advice I'd greatly appreciate it, thank you!

" 1) Bright - don't know much about them other than that they use REDI+ (goldman's platform) - so rates are probably relatively high but the system is great for anything other than scalping (which you shouldn't be doing anyway if you like making money instead of spending it on commissions) 2) Bear Capital Fund - this is just an LLC of genesis securities - so they use laser (which is starting to suck bc genesis doesn't really support it any more for some insane reason) and they have very low rates - this is a great choice if you are a DAYtrader but i seriously doubt they will train you much (i could be wrong though) and i don't like laser for anything but scalping which isn't a good idea in the first place 3) Capstone (AKA Mako) - these guys think they have a hedge fund but i'd say it's about half way between a (bad) fund and a (good) prop trading office - problem is they trade as an office so you're really just an employee trading (executing?) one of their "strategies" for them - frankly i don't like the guys i met there at all and i seriously doubt they have good returns by hedge fund standards - i'd go for a hedge fund, bank, or whatever and not waste time with these guys - but it's definitely a step up from a bucket shop 4) don't know anything about ronin other than that they are headquartered in chicago - sorry (i'm in NYC) 5) transmarket pays a salary from what i've read, i think they're headquartered in chicago, and i think they are like capstone (closer to a fund than a daytrading office) - as for training, i have no idea
