You may have to split the green logs to get them to burn better. If you split them when they are frozen they will split better. Mix some dry wood with them to help keep them lit. They will burn long but not too hot. When burning this greener wood watch for soot buildup in your chimney as that can cause a chimney fire. Scarey and no fun! You can prevent chimney fires by burning a very hot fire in your fireplace every few days to cause a small chimney fire or burning out the soot. The first time is pretty tricky if you haven't cleaned or burned out your chimney in a while. The best to start with is a chimney brush. You can use cardboard or newspapers to get the hot fire to clean or heat the chimney.
