  2. FF10 running well...no crashes...and CPU is at least contained now.
It does spike to 50% sometimes, but only briefly.
However, that's to be expected....I've got 8 windows, and 35 tabs open !

Firefox has always been a resource hog. 10 minute startup time, 8 tabs open - 1.5GB memory usage / 20% constant CPU usage. Dont even know why im still using this piece of crap.

    FF was a big mistake.

I stayed with it because it has some well thought out features e.g. 'paste and search' saves a few mouse clicks day but i am now at the stage where I feel I have to take the data loss (e.g. history) just to get away from it.

I am also getting constant freezing despite a i7 950 - problem goes away on restart, this suggest to me it is a FF problem.

no problem here with tons of add ons. user for many years.

earlier ff had some stupid memory hog issues but latest versions less so.

    ff is the best.

  7. FF 10.0.1 came out....and cpu seems reasonable.
All of that spiking is caused by staying on pages that have a lot of Javascript.
www.cboe.com is notorious for hogging the entire CPU just for quotes.

Flash was always the culprit for me. When I killed it, issues went away (on an XP box). New box w/ Win 7 - no issues at all (as he knocks on wood).
