    I downloaded Firefox 7.0.1.
The text isn't as clear as in IE8.
Is this normally the way Firefox looks?
Bring up two windows of ET.
    Put one in Firefox.
Put the other one in IE8.
    There is a difference.
Firefox, however, does seem a bit faster.
Seems like a very good browser if only the text was somewhat bolder.

  2. I have used firefox for years and I don't need antivirus software. My computer works great.

I gave up on Firefox a few weeks ago and my computer is running quieter, less glitches.

    I like Firefox.
    Just don't prefer their text.
    Are you using IE?

  5. It was the same thing with Windows when Vista came out, they try to do some kind of anti-aliasing or acceleration to improve the gradient edges of the fonts. What happens is the edges lose their contrast and look dusty or blurry like stupid Mac fonts on crummy Safari, totally unreadable.

I had the same problem with a newer version of Firefox, I think I fixed it by turning off hardware acceleration:
    - go to Tools > Options > Advanced
    - Click General tab
    - uncheck "Use Hardware Acceleration when available"

If that doesn't work, search for "Firefox text blurry" -- there are a lot of responses, it seems like everyone has the same complaint. There was one post about it being from Nvidia cards trying to use acceleration on Firefox, so there may be a couple other things to uncheck.
