  1. i'd love to own a vineyard..seems a quiet serene biz to be in.

factoid: takes on avg almost 700 grapes to make a bottle of wine!

He had like 15 years missing. It was the masterpiece of his cellar. The collection was in drawers on one wall of the cellar, but there was no safety stops on drawers. One friend almost made it fall... He was close to heart attack.

I don't know what it was worth but I heard he sold just a couple bottles one time to get a brand new bathroom with sauna.

  4. If you want something similar to Yquem but don't want to spend an arm and a leg Dolce from Napa is pretty good stuff.

  5. For this Yquem sort of stuff, I am a big fan of icewine, Canadian and Kiwi being my favorites.

I don't really like "fruity" white wine like Yquem and other sauternes, too much sugar but I liked ice wine when I was in quebec.

  8. Tangible v intangible investment priced in the barbaric metal...

    Tangible -rather stable

    Intangible - well..... :D

I am wondering how much wine an ounce of gold bought the Greeks in times of antiquity.
