You'll then see that the solutions to our economy may actually be too late to act upon since an overractive legislative branch has already made the decision to simply recapitalize our current financial institutions rather than administrate a nationalized financial services industry through Public, Private Entrprise Partnerships. These legislators needed to wipe out shareholders instead of recapitalize companies with extremely high debt to capital ratios. This would have removed a liquidity problem created by outright transfers of wealth from the taxpayer to these companies that still carried legacy loan costs beyond the liabilities shown on the balance sheet. Both videos with Bernanke and Paulson show the difficulties they were having in figuring out their reach. It is never too late to start improving the financial services industry. I like the series, and I think you will, too.
