    this article is good. it explains with figures the position of the us and global deregulation of finance services. it concludes in part the us situation was not made worse by the financial integration but the rest of the world was.

    worth a read imo.

    More importantly, it concludes bank capital requirement regulation be procyclical, like a sliding scale. But who wants to be That conservative?
