I like concise 1 liners, but prefer an actual right-winger for the Commander in Chief position.

That "survey" was completely biased. They basically used the complaint box where only the disgruntled comment. Talking with people who ACUALLY work there and are ACTUALLY the most critical, they are already back in the office collaborating and kicking ass. They welcome it. They are the ones that the c-suite looks at and say WFH is over. There are a lot of "salt of the earth" tech workers who are inter-changable. Puget sound has reached critical mass and those types will wander from place to place. Meanwhile the best, the principles, the level 3-4s are being catered too.

On the other hand there are some groups, such as AWS sales that "can" WFH, but they can also work together and be more productive.

    Things will sort themselves out.

As for "people" not thinking about the cost of commute, no one required anyone to live in Marysville (45 mins away) or Camano Island (1:30 away). If you want to live in on the beach or near the trail head up off i-90, go for it. But don't expect to be catered to while a lot of the top performers are in Bellevue or Seattle walking to work.

It is very telling all these comments by people who have never worked as the higher levels at MSFT, GOOG, APPL, META or AMZN. They are the equivalent of a medieval "digital surf". They don't understand what is happening and who is making it happen. We are on the verge of huge advancements with advanced algorithms that will replace API libraries. Cavemen with a Bic lighter. ;)

Right swinger? There's liberal Republicans, conservative Republicans and nationalist Republicans. Which of these are you?

Trump is a nationalist wearing any coat that will get him elected.
Need the religious right? Where's that bible Grandma gave me. Let's sell bibles!
Need the fringe right? Hordes of brown rapists are climbing the walls of our paradise... close the border now!
Need the blue collar union labor? Close the trading borders with tariffs! $200k jobs galore for all non college educated hard working men of America! Oh and ;), enough catering to all the colored people taking rightfully whites jobs.
Need the financial sector? Lower taxes on high incomes! Gutter regulators! Let's be free from constraints to make money!

Still, the muppet will lose by significant margins and the rats will return to Mordor.

I find Republicans to be a little bit more tolerable.

I don't live out West and thus don't need to be politically correct. It feels free.

The best people at MSFT, GOOG, APPL, META, AMZN etc quit and found their own startups.

Very few want to work these soul destroying corporates for more than a few years as seen from the average tenure length at these firms.

Just look at APPL so far behind in AI even with $50 billion in cash in the bank. Illya left Google to found openAI, and google got left behind in AI as well.

It's racist to require on site work. The marginalized communities are most affected

Don't even know what that means. I do know that liberal and conservative Republicans are openly voting against Trump, as they should for dignity sake.
The MAGA politicians are populist opportunists trying to bank on the 20% Republicans and 10% Democrats voting for them. In 20 years time they will be remembered like Ross Perot is today.
