Too bad for us speeches (read useless rhetoric) don't solve problems. They only make the sheeple feel good for a little while longer, as their world collapses around them.
Speaking of useless rhetoric, the sheeple sure ate the corn out of this shepherd's butt... <img src=http://www.insanereagan.com/images/mission_accomplished02-hires.jpg>
Let me guess, that "big daddy USA" didn't run things through the local governments. Did they just let the market run its course? Wait, wait, I know. It was no bid contracts to Haliburton. That must be it. From a country that was basically leveled, Japan exported itself to the world second richest economy. Guess who bought those exports? and guess who gave them an umbrella of protection under which to grow? I'm sorry that you can't fit in the old cliched hallibuton gig, but big daddy USA didn't run Toyota, Honda, Sony, etc., we only gave them the worlds largest and richest export market to sell to and get rich on all the while they didn't have a thing to worry about in terms of security. I'm also sorry to inform you that these examples are not considered a socialist success story.
You're making the same argument as Robert Taft. If the Republican's opposition to the Marshall Plan was successful...
How can you miss the irony! Do you really think that Toyota, Honda, Sony etc would be where they are today without massive Japanese government support and funding? Are you really that ignorant? Do you know anything about Japanese automobile manufacturing laws?
