  1. Charts are good and help, but as a few have said - a real-time call or two would be nice. A couple have pointed out DB or DT's that were not on shop's screenshots and were never mentioned. Along with exits - look great once you know it's going to that far fib.

As ES said, it's easy enough to do, so maybe shop and/or ES could do just that.

  2. BF,

i may just do that....in a week or so .

once i finish posting up a few more fine points.

this thread will not turn into a " trade call " like some others in ET.

    that crap is counter productive.

I was reading the earlier post where you corrected Carpet Cleaner's trade idea.

    http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3292250

You said not to short that because there was no second "histo hump".

But on this pic you posted it looks pretty much the same.

Based on the histogram indicator alone it doesn't appear there is any difference between the two setups. It looks like an identical setup on each chart. Only difference is the result.

  4. dv,

    look left.

the previous move had " fibbed out " to a 2.6 level and the histo has turned.

the carpet trade already has a " DB in place and the fib was expanding out .... " going north. "

the short was put on in the middle of this move .

" standing in front of the train ....."

if you have a DB and the move is under way, fib out the move.

then look for a " diverged setup at the top of the expansion....."

the market " slingshots back and forth " like this all day long.

    s

    also..............
notice how the fib is drawn.

in both cases, from the bottom or top of the " first leg..."

    not the second partial retrace.

on a true DB or DT .......both legs are the same.

  5. here is the aussie chart trade.

the DB long move was " under way " and full pulled to the 4.2

then a DT was formed with massive diverge for a short setup.

  6. one last pic on the aussie buck.

    look left.........

the previous move from the last DT ran out of gas at 4.2 expansion south.

the new DB is trading north with zero lag cross over

if there is to be a full expansion to 4.2 or better
you will find in most cases
    three legs.

    just the way it is.........

do not get caught in the middle, counter trend.

if the " histo is dropping but the price is not......." then you are on the wrong side.

  8. shopster,

is there a scan that'll bring up any futures or stock symbol that retraces 70.7% or greater within user defined timeframe? i know you use 10 monitors to find your trades but i'm trying to find a tool that'll help me automate this process. thanks in advance.
