Only 7 % of illegal gun possession convictions are already current felons,because it has a 5 year sentence. 0% of illegal gun possession are for full auto weapons,because it has a 10 year sentence. Those stats show that if the penalty is great enough people will not have illegal guns,regardless of the supply available.
