1) She's supposed to "lob" it, not "throw" it! 2) To think the rest of the world is afraid of them.
I remember the grenade range when I went through boot camp at Parris Island....... We go to the range and they go through the class on grenades. The only thing I get out of it is " Don't milk the handle or you will die"..... We go to throw some practice grenades that just have fuses in them and no charge. The recruit ahead of me milked the handle and it went off when he had it next to his head to throw...... It was just the fuse so nobody was hurt BUT it did make an impression on me. I get to the real range. We are supposed to pull the pin, hold, get ready to throw and then throw. I just pulled the pin and threw it. Sgt. Gibbs, one of my drill instructors made sure I knew I did it wrong. Gut punched and made to do mountain climbers until the rest of the platoon was finished throwing.
