If you get a rush you are not doing it right, trading is the most boring job on the planet, worse than a commercial airline pilot, I was going to be one before deciding on finance, some choices in life have no do-overs!
%% WHAT if someone is a woman, like your drama queen pic? And, as if trading over 20 years makes you not ''look forward to start their work day'' I still get excited , with wise target shooting, hunting+ been doing that much longer than> 20 years. I never believed the bs in trading books that good trading is boring, sounds more like boring trading is done by bored people. But since G sorsos said good trading is boring, that settles it HUH?? Sure Maybe , just maybe\ he regrets his biggest loss\ maybe exciting ''floor traders got wind of a whale in trouble\LOL'' No dis respect to George S
I didn't say trading must be boring, just not "looking forward to it" every morning as if it'll give me an erection. Otherwise, I would be bragging about 30 years of nonstop orgy. Heck, that would be better than Viagra, wouldn't ya say?
If trading gives you a rush then it’s gonna crush you as well. What’s built on luck will eventually make you puke. Ups and Down the drawdowns. I’ve read boring is trading, Boring is the absence of euphoria and capitulation. Once you’ve learned to walk feet after feet, You can begin to enjoy what’s around you. Trading becomes like a 2nd nature. You forget about it. JOKING ! Go big or go home ! Show us you got BIG balls ! YOLO All or Nothing !
Only in some ways, yes. Yes, yes, yes!!! Otherwise they wouldn't be trading. The funny thing is trading is the only profession where when you quit people actually applaud you and give you their approval for your decision without you having to give a lengthy explanation. LOL Will still be looking forward to start my workday and feel sad when the market closes for a holiday.
The key to longevity as a trader is having the awareness and proper pacing knowing when to trade and when not to trade. As humanoids, we are subject to our emotions. It’s impossible to disconnect emotions with trading no matter how much we’re told to disconnect from them. But the more aware we are of them, we can engage them head-on as they creep in.
Not gonna lie but in the beginning I used to feel that rush. Even got great rewards a few times, you may call it beginners luck or whatever. The fact that everything went well made me think that how I am doing it is right. I started betting more and this good feeling that I can make fortunes from trading blotted out as soon as I blew my account somewhere around $1000. But I am glad that I recognised the problem and started working on improving myself instead of trying to make up for my losses.
Wow! I thought OP was about to tell the rush is the sign of a dedicated trader. I never got the rush even after winning trades. Thanks to the pessimist inside me.
