    Today has been aggravating to say the least. :mad:

    Old computer died and I spent the weekend getting the new one ready for trading/life/business.

    I worked hard testing all of the settings to ensure a glitch-free day. That didn't happen.

    Immediately when the market opened today, a trade was placed according to plan. The breakout failed. Then before I knew it, price went straight through my stop, without taking me out. Glitch? I didn't know.

    Next trade. Same exact thing happened. These weren't fast moves skipping over the stop. They even hovered around the stop for a while.

    I reloaded a lot of settings and reset some software only to have it happen again!

    Getting on the phone for some tech help now. Wonderful wait times.

    SIM account right, so no real losses atleast :)

    very strange, suspect issue on there end with Sim account and coincidental on the timing with new PC.

    TD--> you were right. Coincidence with new computer.

    TS finally got back to me. They are experiencing issues with SIM stop-market orders, and OSO orders. Specifically all futures accounts.

    Oh well.

    I'm in IT, weird coincidences happen all the time, something that's never ever played up before fails just as you mess with it, to create hours of panic to find out, merely coincidence.

    It's a PAIN!! :)

    Very Quick recap and off to work.

    TA --> 5 trades. 2 W and 3 L = +$43

    One signal taken that apparently wasn't my signal.

    Method needs further clarification and work. More specifics. But, this needs to be accomplished only if my mind is in the right spot. The last thing to do is tweak TA out of an effort to "prevent pain by avoiding losses."

    Had to close out the last trade because I'm late for work. It looks like it's running to target.

    MA -->

    VERY objective today. The trades will still be reviewed. Neutral. The only discomfort was needing to close a winner to get to work. Felt VERY in tune with PA.

    Chart tonight. NO TIME

    I think I'm seeing something in my approach that I haven't been able to see before.

    A set-up/signal in and of itself doesn't mean one has a trade. Meaning --> if one has a set-up present, it really has to be considered inside of PA context.

    Another meaning--> PA CONTEXT is favorable, and the set-up signal is then looked for. Not vice versa.

    PA context, then signal.

    Or do people trade every range break out just because there's a range breakout? Do we trade every pullback just because there is one? Every DT, ever DB? No way.

    I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I'm struggling in determining what would be worth analyzing statistically.

    JS,

    Two guide posts

    Build context based on PA.... then look for (appropriate) signals within said context

    (DT in an up move very likely is not appropriate - unless it a potential PB/ range/ reversal forming)

    Use this next guide post as an umbrella (overseer) for above guide post (once the context created based on the higher TF)

    When observing PA - keep your orientation thus

    Observe how the lower TF PA - is playing to the higher TF context (aka previous PA)

    And keep you orientation this way throughout the session (easy to get 1M cracked)

    Lower TF bars create higher TF bars
    Lower TF bars are also the inner workings of the larger TF bars / context/ PA (iow all of it)

    ==========================

    Higher TF = one larger than your TTF
    Lower TF - one lower than your TTF..., could also be your TTF

    If this confusing say so

    It's not confusing. I've been blind to it. It's probably because my mind is open to it now after working on head stuff.

    I'm still trying to understand why I was blinded. Either way, I'm glad it's finally become clear. Context seems pretty vital. :)

    I have work/studying ahead of me now.

    I don't think Im returning to 1 min anytime soon. :)

    Thanks RN
