Thanks for your suggestions and no offense taken. I'm a programmer helping a trading expert automate his manual strategy. So I'm struggling with the lack of documentation and/or access to source code to obviate said documentation for the various charting environments. You can be even less "sure" because I didn't provide you with the sufficient documentation of what my calls were. It may well be that with more expertise in trading that despite the lack of clarifying documentation of ambiguous terms like "averaging" (exponential?, mean?,...) and other overloaded terminology, I'd be able to suss out what is going on. Traders often elide such details when relying on so-called "indicators" -- and some of them make money anyway. But lacking their expertise, I have to be more rigorous than, perhaps, the situation may require.
