I understand the money aspect of it. I went of one of the schools listed and enjoyed going to the games. But money has exploded into college sports in recent years along with the corruption. There is nothing amatuer about college sports these days. On one hand we have March madness and college football which are multi-billion dollar business on back of unpaid athletes and the other side privileged kids and parents gaming the obscure sports to gain admission. System is corrupt in both ways. Nuking athletics is the only way to get back to the core mission of the college.

College admissions in america is distorted toward disproportionately rich and poor. Affirmative action has made ethnic scholarships common while morally disallowing any assistance for middle class white folks.
