The US is bankrupt and will collapse in 4< years.

Public pensions are invested in equities and bonds, and depending if Bernacke does Zimbabwe or 1929, those pensions will get redeemed in toilet paper or 10 cents on the dollar.

Of course, the private sector will take it just as bad.

  3. This shouldn't be the roll of the govt. Invention in supposed to be done by people in their garages, not by the govt. I just don't know if this is a long-term trend or just an ebb in the cycle.

it should bother you. government workers by definition divert resources from productive uses and make society less efficient and poorer. also the government is almost never an innovator and rarely brings about progress. zdreg

But it's not what we want, "we" meaning voters. For a generation, the voters have consistently voted for more government, more handouts, more spending and more debt. That's why both parties are about more government, because if one of them switched to smaller government then we'd be a one party system :(. And now everybody expects the federal government to solve every stinkin' problem they have. A storm blows through the Midwest, and everybody demands aid from the feds. Bees start to die and the beekeepers scream for government aid. College gets expensive, jobs dry up, crabgrass takes over your lawn and everybody expects DC to solve the problem.

As if that wasn't bad enough, we even expect DC to spend money solving Other People's Problems. From payday lenders to smoke filled bars, we push our way into their business and tell them WTF to do. They didn't ask for help, don't want any help, but we know better than they what is good for them and we're gonna stick it to `em.

There's no turning this train (wreck) around. We're heading straight for more government, more regulation, more debt, more handouts and more, more more! And most of the voters are cheering us on! Woo hoo!

  6. Off the top of my head, I would look for a position as an attendant in a parking garage or a park ranger at some forgotten landmark, something where you're left unsupervised and bored.

Fer chrissakles man, I post 24/7 and I'm on the job 24/7 and I don't have any college credits that I can think of.:D
