Interesting, thanks for that. Will definitely dig further to see how the FEC itself interpreted this part of the law in previous cases. I think like here, debates and exchanges can be had in a civilized manner between those who attach value to logical reasoning and a pursuit of the truth.
For fucks sake, wtf? Once again, Trump invites foreign nations to interfere in our elections and and his army of retards defends it. This is just more proof that the internet has done to conservatives what was thought video games would do to children.
Perhaps, but there are also some others who clearly state that the point they made or considered is based on their own interpretation and opinion. Not that it matters to the law or truth but just saying some, who might otherwise politically disagree with you more often than not are equally invested in the pursuit of the truth.
And when will you wake up to ignore the noise and focus on the significant issue, the actions? Don't care what Trump says, care what he did and does. Easier to work with that than being outraged all day.
Because those are not facts. Those are INTERPRETATIONS of an oversight body made up by people. We can talk about facts when/if it gets all the way up to the Supreme Court and is settled there.
House democrats have introduced a bill defining opposition research or "dirt" as a thing of value. There would be no need for this legislation if the current law was cut & dried. https://www.vox.com/2019/6/13/18677663/house-democrats-trump-dirt-foreign-governments Here’s how that bill would work: It would include opposition research as a thing of value in the existing foreign contribution ban already in campaign finance law. The bill would essentially clarify existing law to say that opposition research or other negative information related to a campaign solicited from or donated by a foreign government does not need to have money attached to it to make a “thing of value.”
Trump is the current president of the United States! What he says reverberates across the world. If he says tariffs, stock markets go down; if he says war, nations take defensive actions; if he says it’s ok to interfere in our elections, nations interfere. You expect people to not have any understanding of the world and to pretend as though what the president of the United States says has no consequences. That’s absolutely ridiculous.
Wrong, it reverberates in the brains of those who are extremely sensitive to anxieties, opposing thoughts and expressions, feelings, and emotions. The rest of the world, especially decision makers have a long time ago filtered out the person and focused on decisions and orders, given. I would say Abe and Merkel are especially noteworthy in that regard. I would mention the Queen as well was she not such a raunchous and racist bitch. Markets go up and down not because of things anyone says but because of the expectation of future actions. Words and actions, big difference.
