Whenever a trader poster gets shitty easily, I figure it's because they are under financial stress.

I tend to agree as well. I mean what is so wrong with saying that for every 1 really good trade, there are 5 entries that are shit. And maybe only one day a week can ever be really good, but you keep trading every day hoping you get a couple of these in a month.

I remember the old poster @Dustin who was very open about saying that of the times that he showed $100k and higher days, these were very rare, but necessary to end up nicely positive at the end of the year. The other interesting thing was that he showed screen captures of all trades that day. He could have like 20 trades, and easily half we losers, but the half that winners had some very, very big wins.

So maybe the secret to trading is like what B1S2 has been saying, the only edge is trade management. So you put on a bunch of trades, and hope that 1 or 2 work, and sometimes you are luckily in that they work very, very well, if you can avoid taking a quick profit.

This of course means that every killer trade is going to be matched up with 5 or 10 small losses, but why this needs to be brushed aside, I have no idea.

Voldermort/Destriero does this as well mind you. He only ever shows the days he is up several percent on his account, but if 5% gains happened every week, that would be 250% a year, which is clearly not where he is at since its a large account. For every 5% winning day, there are likely several 0.5-1% losing days, but he never shares this, and the 5% day likely only happens several times a year.

Its all just kind of frustrating for traders looking to learn. Imagine going to the doctor and him telling you that you need surgery but is unwilling to give you the breakdown of what the chances are for success, or chances of death if you don't do anything. What if he told you that that this year, 5 patients got a successful heart valve replacement, but he fails to mention that 20 others died on the table. Ouch.

It seems most the guys on the ES thread are day traders and imo it's a very difficult way to make a living.
Day trading requires constant attention whilst trading, so that can be a few hours a day of being glued to a seat.

I swing trade and rarely glued to a seat, in fact it's the opposite, I need to have other 'occupations' to fill in the day, so I go to the beach, bike ride and build stuff in my garage, gardening, socializing.

Every morning weather permitting when the market is opening I jump on the treadly (bike) and do a 8km circuit, beach, coffee, back to the beach then home.
After that it gets too hot in the day for 'working' outdoors.

I don’t think there’s really anyone who would consider you a troll. We’ve PMed before on issues we disagree about. The conversation was constructive and respectful.

I agree. His replies were never obnoxious, always put lots of thoughts into them. I might not agree with him but I always respected his views.

We are on ET for different reasons, some, like me are here to learn, others, mostly pros, for entertainments, some to troll, some to live out their fantasies..., as this is an anonymous forum and we are all anonymous.

From your posts you appeared to be a very good trader, a pro and may not like someone questioning your techniques or posts.

Many of us, me included, are amateur retails, coming here to try to improve our skills. I for one appreciate all feedbacks, have thick skins, trolls or not I welcome all responses.

I'm not a pro but I approach this with that being the end goal. I wouldn't mind a question about how I trade. I'm very basic in my approach and I've shown a few charts with real trades marked by the trading platform. Noah wasn't asking about how I approach trading. What irked me was that Noah decided to chime in out of nowhere to tell me how I was doing it all wrong. This after he had already been on my ignore list since he trolled LF last summer.

I've not been here long but I have extensive ignore list. I don't have time in my life or space in my head for negative nut jobs. ET has quite a supply of those.

Yet you complained about how bad Australia is, bad politicians, bad housing, bad economy... you live in heaven and don't know it. :D

Don't get upset, I said in in jest. Australia is wonderful. I visited Sidney and Adelaide years ago, spent time at Central Market in Adelaide, a wonderful city I don't mind move to.

    Take care.
