Ahh.. Speaking for yourself huh? Odd you do that, only insecure people who don't have much of a following "speak for themselves in third person"... Your analogy is stupid and your kiddie-like logic is very dull. You're trying to say anyone can teach trading with no brain.. Not the case for mentors who have spent years learning the markets and deserve respect unlike you, who is trying to mock one.. Big difference, Pension Admin and I'm sure Qwerty will have much to say on this dumb matter you raise as well.
First, and I repeat, I NEVER said mentors shouldn't get paid. Only unqualified mentors shoudn't get paid. Second, I've been trading for a living for over 17 years and I'm just trying to save beginners the pain and heartache of getting ripped off by phony mentors-for-hire. This industry is littered with failed traders who can't make a living by trading so they try to pawn themselves off as mentors. If beginners want to hire them, that's their choice. If you want to hire a mentor who can't make a living as a trader, that's your decision. After attending dozens of conventions, expos, classes and meetings, and talking to hundreds of traders, I've heard scores of horror stories and never a single success story when it comes to "mentors-for-hire." You see, when I first started out, I tried to find a mentor, also. It's only natural. But I could never find a mentor with a verified history of success, so I taught myself. Maybe you will be the exception and find a mentor who will lead you to consistent profitability. I wish you the best of luck in your trading.
No, um, I'm not! I am edtradernyc! Look at me.. I am from NYC and my name is Ed.. Not QWERTY. That's a stupid name.. It's the name of a keyboard.. I have far more intellect than using the name "QWERTY" on an online message board, sheesh!
You think it's ok to put down those who have no education or what you deem "qualifications".. But guess what, Tomdavis? There ARE indeed competent trading mentors out there who went through lots of blood sweat and tears to get good that are JUST as capable as those with those super important "qualifications" as you deem them.. Think about it.. Not everyone who is unqualified is a fraud like you imply, TomDavis... May want to rethink that one before you embarrass yourself even further, lol.
The point that i was making tomdavis was that at this time, the law cannot impose your ideal or so called fanciful notion of requiring all trading advisors to show documentation, the act alone of formulating an arrangement between a mentor and a student does not require legislation, you missed the point of what i said entirely, good going tomdavis, nor i have not emphasized or have i encouraged for a potential student to send money FIRST or BEFORE education begins.
Name three mentors who have the ability to trade for a living year in and year out. Really, I'm serious, because I know several people who have been burned by so-called mentors in the past and are looking for the real-deal mentors. They're ready to sign up today. I don't have time to help these people, so please post the names and contact information of qualified mentors. And by the way, if you're going to quote me, please don't edit my words. The correct quote is: "I NEVER said mentor's shouldn't get paid."
